Loading ESRI feature server

Hello,

We are having some difficulty loading this ESRI feature server https://portal.data.nsw.gov.au/arcgis/rest/services/Hosted/NSW_Bush_Fire_Prone_Land/FeatureServer/ . Wondering if there are any tricks required to load into GSA?

Hi Scott,

This has to do with the service type. Esri has two kind of services that really sound alike, but are totally different:
- Feature Service: Feature services—ArcGIS Server | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise - for use with native ArcGIS applications
- Web Feature Service, also known as WFS (a OGC standard): WFS services—ArcGIS Server | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise - which can be read by other applications using the OGC standard, such as GSA

The URL you referred to is one of the first type, while you would need one of the second type.
If offered by the supplier, the format should be:
http://gisserver.domain.com:6080/ar...licable)>/<service name>/MapServer/WFSServer?
(i.e. http://gisserver.domain.com:6080/ar...WFSServer?service=WFS&request=GetCapabilities)

I have tried with the URL you mentioned, that should result in:
https://portal.data.nsw.gov.au/arcg...WFSServer?service=WFS&request=GetCapabilities
However, they don't seem to have installed/enabled/opened MapServer (holding all the OGC service types), so it is Esri-only unfortunately...

Thank you Mark, I really appreciate you spending the time to have a look. Not sure why OGC service types would not be enabled, maybe I will chase them up. Thanks again for the information.
